Leading trekking and adventure company in Nepal offering unforgettable Himalayan experiences.
The Three High Passes Trek begins in Lukla (2,828m), following the scenic Dudh Koshi Valley up to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant heart of the Khumbu region. This lively Sherpa town serves as a central hub for trekkers, locals, and climbers en route to Mt. Everest. Along the way, travelers are immersed in the rich Sherpa culture, colorful festivals, traditional villages, and historic monasteries.
The journey continues to Lungden, where the ascent to Renjo La Pass (5,360m) offers breathtaking panoramic views of Everest and surrounding peaks. Unlike the main Everest trail, this pass follows a less-traveled route. In Gokyo Valley, trekkers can take side trips to the fourth and fifth lakes, with stunning vistas and views of the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest in Nepal. A climb to Gokyo Ri (5,330m) rewards trekkers with one of the finest viewpoints in the Everest region.
From Gokyo, the trail leads across the Cho La Pass (5,420m) to reach Everest Base Camp (5,364m), with the opportunity to hike to Kala Patthar (5,550m) for iconic views of Everest and the Khumbu Icefall. The final and highest of the three passes, Kongma La (5,535m), offers equally magnificent scenery. The trek then descends through Dingboche and Tengboche, eventually returning to Lukla.
For those seeking a further challenge, Lobuche Peak provides a thrilling climb. This mountain has two summits: Lobuche East (6,119m), classified as a trekking peak, and Lobuche West (6,145m), regarded as an expedition peak. Although linked by a ridge, the two are separated by a deep notch and significant distance. The East summit is typically reached by traversing snowy slopes after descending the notch, often ending at a false summit just short of the true peak. The first recorded ascent was made by Laurence Nielson and Ang Gyalzen Sherpa on April 25, 1984, although earlier, undocumented ascents may have occurred.
